Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the "Wolf King" of the Christian chronicles, ruled the entire Xarq al Andalus (Murcia, Valencia and Almeria) for a quarter of a century (1147-1172). Although ibn Sa'd maintained his anti-Almoravid resistance and independence until his death in 1172, he advised his succesor Hilal to cede the power to the new sect (the Almohads) once he succeeded him on the throne.
