Silver dirham, large flan (3,13 g., 29 mm.) minted in Al-Andalus (Cordoba in Southern Spain), 334 H. (A.D. 945)

Only in the years 334 and 335 were minted these dirhams with a larger size than normal ones. Citting to Hisam هسام (he is not included in the prefects of the mint list in times of Abd al-Rahman III following to Ibn Hayyan, Muqtabis).

We think this special display in the legends, large size and careful strike may lead to the belief that this coins were minted as ceremonial or special gifts.

Choice very fine condition. Lightly toned. Mintmark, date and assayer perfectly visible. Very rare!!
